Public opinion favours stronger and better democracy but most politicians are against it and will resist reforms. Without effective campaigning we will continue to live in our "elective dictatorship".
The I&R INIREF campaign for citizen-led, direct democracy in Britain, active for over ten years, has raised public awareness of democracy deficits and ways to improve these. We propose to expand campaigning, also to organise and offer public education to show how direct democracy works in practice.
Gifts and donations, large and small, are essential for progress and success. They are urgently needed.
