citizens' initiative and referendum

Vladimir Rott* <vjr@vjrott.com> writing in February 2003 suggests the following resources concerning democracy in Switzerland:

There are quite some helping hands and a lot of material in English:

     (1) People at the Swiss sources - universities of Berne, Fribourg,
     Geneva, St.Gallen, Zurich.
     (2) The www.swissinfo.ch sections in German, French and Italian on
     going initiatives and referenda.
     (3) The www.admin.ch sections on political rights and the Swiss
     system.
     (4) ...some (further) links like those at www.iri-europe.org

The Swiss embassies in your country are - really ! - of great and
competent help. Contact them, ask them, talk to the people there. The
initiative must come from you, no Swiss will force upon you any of the
info, yet they are delighted to participate in any decent activity
making our experience known.

Regards, Vladimir
